Ensight Automotive Solutions Launches Power Liftgate Kit for the All-New 2025+ Toyota 4Runner

First aftermarket power liftgate with hands-free foot sensor now shipping for the sixth-generation 4Runner

RIVERSIDE, CA — April 2026 — Ensight Automotive Solutions, a specialist in OEM-quality vehicle integration since 2010, today announced availability of its Automated Power Liftgate Retrofit Kit for the 2025 and 2026 Toyota 4Runner. The kit is the first aftermarket power liftgate engineered specifically for the sixth-generation 4Runner platform and is now shipping to customers nationwide.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner launched on Toyota's TNGA-F platform to overwhelming demand, delivering a complete redesign of the iconic SUV. While Toyota offers a hands-free power liftgate on TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter trims, base SR5 and TRD Sport buyers do not receive hands-free foot sensor capability. The massive installed base of 2010–2024 fifth-generation 4Runners never had a factory power liftgate option on any trim level.

"The 4Runner has always been one of our best-selling platforms for power liftgate retrofits," said Khody, founder of Ensight Automotive Solutions. "The fifth-generation 4Runner's heavy all-steel liftgate made the power upgrade practically essential for daily use. With the sixth generation selling faster than almost any 4Runner before it, we prioritized engineering and testing to get this kit to market as quickly as possible."

The kit replaces factory gas struts with vehicle-specific motorized struts that provide smooth, controlled liftgate operation. It includes a foot-activation sensor for hands-free operation, key fob integration using the existing Toyota Smart Key, adjustable opening height to clear garages and overhead structures, anti-pinch obstacle detection, a liftgate button for one-touch open and close, and a vehicle-specific wiring harness with plug-and-play connectors requiring no permanent modifications to the vehicle. The kit supports manual override if the power system is inactive. Professional installation typically takes three to four hours.
