Dr. Cohen specializes in working with patients whose psychological symptoms are rooted in adverse experiences—childhood trauma, relational injury, professional stress, grief, and cumulative life stressors. His approach integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, somatic techniques, and psychodynamic frameworks to create individualized treatment that addresses both the narrative and neurological dimensions of trauma.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an evidence-based psychotherapy with strong research support for post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR engages the brain's natural processing mechanisms to reintegrate distressing memories that have become neurologically stuck—often producing results that years of conventional therapy have been unable to achieve.
