Former Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis to Deliver Address at New England Law | Boston's 2025 Commencement

BOSTON, April 16, 2025 ~ New England Law | Boston has announced the official program for its 2025 Commencement, set to take place on Friday, May 16 at the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston. The prestigious event will feature Edward F. Davis, President and CEO of The Edward Davis Company and former Police Commissioner of the City of Boston, as the keynote speaker.

With over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, Mr. Davis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the ceremony. He served as the Police Commissioner of Boston from December 2006 to October 2013, where he led a highly successful response to the tragic Boston Marathon bombing. Prior to that, he was the Superintendent of the Lowell Police Department.

Currently, Mr. Davis leads The Edward Davis Company, a renowned security consulting and crisis management firm that advises companies on risk mitigation, compliance, and emergency response.

"We are honored to have Edward Davis as our keynote speaker for our 114th Commencement at New England Law | Boston," said James H. Kennedy III, CEO and Dean. "His lifelong dedication to law enforcement and public safety serves as an exemplary model for our graduates as they embark on their legal careers. We are eager for him to share his hard-earned wisdom with our graduating class."

In addition to Mr. Davis' address, New England Law leadership will present honorary Doctor of Humanities degrees to him and Rachelle G. Cohen, Assistant Editorial Page Editor at the Boston Globe. They will also award an honorary Doctor of Laws degree to Joseph D. Early Jr., District Attorney for Worcester County.

The ceremony promises to be a momentous occasion for all involved as graduates celebrate their achievements and prepare for their future endeavors in the legal field.
