RICHMOND, Ky. - TelAve -- On Tuesday, 17 November Gallery on Main will host their annual Juried High School Show & All Member Exhibit, however, this year there will also be a book signing! The book signing will feature 3 books illustrated by Pat Banks, the Board President; several books by Obiora Embry, the Board Vice-President; and Jim Embry, a Gallery on Main artist.

Pat Banks is one of the founding members of Richmond Community Galleries, Inc.—it has been Doing Business As Gallery on Main for over two decades—and the Board President. She wears many hats (watercolor painter, Kentucky Riverkeeper President, and more), like the other two authors, and is the illustrator of three books: A is for Appalachia, Toys and Games of Appalachia, and most recently Appalachian Plants. If you already have one of these books bring it to have it signed. If you do not have any purchase one or more on-site and have them signed in person.

Obiora Embry has been on the Gallery on Main Board since 2016 and has served as the President and Vice-President. He wrote his first two poems in the second grade and has been a lover of words for as long as he can remember. Obiora will have several books for you to choose from: The Embry Family Cookbook, Second Edition; Expanding Horizons Through Creative Expressions (2^nd Edition); Love & Other Emotions: Poems from 1990-2001; and Martin Family Word Search (2^nd Edition). He will also have copies of the Getting Back to Nature 2027 Calendar to sell & sign. Jim Embry, an international globe trotter, is self-described as being an activist since he was 10 years old.  He is also a griot—a storyteller—his family and the communities that he calls called home, so it's fitting that his debut book is entitled THE GREAT REMEMBERING: From Kentucky Soil to Global Table. If you do not already have a copy of Jim's book you can purchase it at the book signing and have it signed.

And for those not in the know it may be cheaper to purchase books from your favorite online retailer, but know that by purchasing books directly from one of these authors, they get to retain more income from the book sales, thus allowing them to write more books!
