Georgia: Gov. Kemp: 200 New Jobs Headed to Emanuel County

ATLANTA ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Brian P. Kemp revealed that Dongwon Autopart Technology will be investing $30 million in a new production facility in Emanuel County. This move is expected to bring 200 new jobs to the area over the next few years.
Governor Kemp expressed his excitement for the project, stating that Georgia's thriving automotive industry is creating opportunities for people all across the state. He believes that this investment will have a positive impact on the community for years to come.
Dongwon Autopart Technology, which has been in operation since 1971, supplies components such as doorframes, seat frames, and battery frames to automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company currently employs over 500 people in the Southeast and has facilities in Hogansville, Georgia that will continue to operate.
Heather Hollstein, Human Resources Manager at Dongwon Autopart Technology, expressed her pride in being a part of Georgia's growing automotive industry. She also thanked Emanuel County for welcoming them and stated their commitment to providing high-quality products and services to their customers.

The new manufacturing facility will be located at the Hwy 297 Industrial Park near Swainsboro. The company plans to hire for various positions including management, system leads, and production personnel starting in 2026.
Representative Butch Parrish, Chairman of the House Rules Committee, shared his commitment to bringing quality jobs to rural communities. He expressed his pride in seeing Emanuel County work alongside state partners to bring job opportunities to Georgians in the region.
Chairman Will Donaldson of the Emanuel County Development Authority also expressed his pleasure and excitement at welcoming Dongwon Autopart Technology to their community. He stated that their investment in economic development has paid off and is looking forward to seeing its positive impact on the community.
Ken Warnock, CEO of the Emanuel County Development Authority, shared his pleasure in working with Dongwon's leadership team to assist them in finding a suitable location for their new facility. He also mentioned that this is the largest economic development project for Emanuel County in over 30 years.

Alyce Thornhill, Director of Project Implementation and Supplier Strategy at the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), represented the GDEcD's Global Commerce team in this competitive project. She worked closely with the Emanuel County Development Authority, Georgia Ports Authority, Georgia Power, and Georgia Quick Start to secure this investment.
GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson stated that the automotive industry is expanding along the I-16 corridor as suppliers strategically choose locations with access to OEMs and Georgia's ports. He believes that Dongwon Autopart Technology's decision to open a second location in Georgia is a testament to the state's robust automotive industry, which has been creating jobs for over 100 years. He congratulated Emanuel County on the new opportunities this investment will bring to the community.
