ATLANTA ~ Governor Brian P. Kemp of Georgia has announced the third round of grants from the Rural Site Development Initiative (RSDI) within the OneGeorgia Authority. This latest allotment includes $4.3 million, bringing the total investment committed to rural site development projects since the program's launch in FY 2025 to $21 million.

The RSDI grants are awarded for either site improvement or to assist with the costs of seeking Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) certification on approved projects critical to economic development in that area of the state. These grants are matched by communities at various levels, based on the program's criteria.

Governor Kemp expressed his commitment to bringing good-paying jobs to every part of Georgia, stating, "In Georgia, we are committed to bringing good-paying jobs to every part of the state." He also acknowledged the partnership and support of the General Assembly and state agencies in making this generational impact for rural communities possible.

Lt. Governor Burt Jones also praised Governor Kemp and state agencies for their efforts in ensuring that the Rural Site Development Initiative continues to grow and support rural communities. He emphasized the importance of workforce development and economic growth in all parts of Georgia, especially in rural areas where new opportunities are emerging daily.

He commended OneGeorgia's Rural Site Development grants as a representation of the state's commitment to uplifting rural communities and investing where it makes the largest impact.

Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Christopher Nunn emphasized that helping Georgia's communities stay ready for investment is essential for their long-term success. He stated that DCA is working alongside these communities to ensure their vision for future development.

Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson highlighted how development-ready sites are crucial in today's competitive landscape, particularly in industries such as logistics and manufacturing. He emphasized the importance of partnering with communities through the GRAD certification and RSDI programs to market every corner of the state and compete for opportunities for Georgians.

The grants awarded in this round include $2 million to the Camden County Joint Development Authority for site readiness improvements at the Coastal Georgia Commerce Park. The total project costs are $7.3 million. The Toombs County Development Authority also received $2 million for site readiness improvements at the One Toombs Industrial Park, which is GRAD-certified and spans 599 acres.

In addition to site improvement grants, several communities were awarded GRAD-certification scholarships. The Brantley County Development Authority received $45,000 to certify the 103-acre Satilla Industrial Park, while the Candler County Industrial Authority was awarded $103,500 to renew certification for and expand the Metter-Candler I-16 Industrial Park. The Rome-Floyd Development Authority received $20,625 to certify the 200-acre Enterprise Corner Industrial Park site, and the Waycross-Ware County Development Authority was granted $161,500 to certify the 391-acre Waycross and Ware County Airport Industrial Park.

Eligible activities for use of grant funds include site studies, land grading, and other essential community infrastructure efforts that support site development. Grantees must have demonstrated substantive plans for industrial site development while meeting OneGeorgia Authority eligibility requirements. All funds must be used in accordance with applicable state laws and regulations as well as policies and requirements set by OneGeorgia Authority and Department of Community Affairs.
