ATLANTA ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Brian P. Kemp revealed that ArcelorMittal Building Solutions will be establishing its North American headquarters and a new manufacturing facility in Macon-Bibb County. This move is expected to bring in an initial investment of approximately $57 million and create up to 70 new jobs for the community. The company also has plans for an additional $50 million in investment and the potential for 70 more jobs over the next few years.
Governor Kemp expressed his excitement about this development, stating that it comes at a time when Georgia is breaking economic records. ArcelorMittal Building Solutions specializes in designing and manufacturing high-performance building envelope systems used to insulate and protect various types of buildings such as warehouses, factories, data centers, and commercial buildings. Their insulated panels are known for their structural strength, thermal efficiency, and fast installation, making them a popular choice among customers looking to reduce construction time and energy consumption. The new operation in Macon will build upon ArcelorMittal's existing presence in the United States, which includes world-class steelmaking, finishing, manufacturing, research and development, and sales/support locations employing over 3,200 people across nine states.
Jean Christophe Kennel, CEO of ArcelorMittal Building Solutions, expressed his enthusiasm for this investment in Macon. He stated that there is a strong demand for high-performance building solutions driven by growth in logistics, manufacturing, and data center infrastructure. The company aims to bring advanced insulated panel manufacturing closer to their customers with a focus on speed, reliability, and consistent quality. The facility will operate with state-of-the-art production technology and support a broad range of building applications in the region.

The new headquarters and manufacturing operation, which will also include a training facility, will be located at the Airport South site in Macon. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with operations targeted to commence in the second half of 2027, subject to necessary permits and approvals.
