ATLANTA ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Brian P. Kemp revealed that Socomec, a leading electrical component and system manufacturer, will be investing nearly $10 million in a new facility in Suwanee, Georgia. This investment is expected to create 300 new jobs in Gwinnett County.

Governor Kemp expressed his excitement about welcoming Socomec to the state of Georgia, which has been ranked as the number one state for business. He also highlighted the state's success in attracting innovative manufacturers and looked forward to the opportunities this project will bring to the local community.

Socomec specializes in power switching, monitoring, conversion, and energy storage, as well as expert services that support each business area. The company launched its U.S. subsidiary in 2009 and has since made significant investments in local manufacturing, resources, and product development. This has allowed them to better serve the evolving needs of the North American market with a combination of local expertise and global support.

Robin Sodia, Director of HR for Socomec North America, also expressed pride in the company's expansion and commitment to people and progress. The new facility will be located at 2935 Shawnee Industrial Way near Suwanee. Hiring for production and operations roles is expected to begin in early Q1 2026.

Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson of Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners highlighted the county's diverse industries and shared vision for long-term prosperity. She stated that Socomec's investment reinforces their strategy to build a balanced and resilient economy. Assistant Director of Statewide Projects John Soper represented GDEcD's Global Commerce team in partnership with Partnership Gwinnett, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Quick Start, and Georgia Power.
