Golden Paper Introduces TAD Hand Towel Technology, Ushering in a New Era of Premium Tissue Quality
TelAve News/10879351
SHANGHAI - TelAve -- A thinner, softer, and more absorbent experience for public and commercial users
In March 2025, Golden Paper officially announced the successful introduction and production launch of TAD (Through-Air Drying) technology in its hand towel paper product line.
This technology complements the company's traditional creping process and has already been introduced to the market earlier this year.
In traditional hand towel manufacturing, higher basis weights are often required to maintain strength and durability, which leads to thicker paper, higher material costs, and increased transportation expenses.
The TAD process, however, uses hot air to dry the paper through an open structure, allowing it to achieve greater bulk, softness, and absorbency even at lower basis weights. Because of this, TAD is widely recognized as one of the leading paths toward high-end paper towel production.
Golden Paper's technical director, Dan, explained:
"Compared to conventional hand towels, our TAD-based paper offers 20–40% higher bulk and faster absorbency at the same basis weight.

With proper control of tensile strength and durability, we can also reduce fiber usage — which makes the technology especially valuable for public facilities, restaurants, hotels, airports, and office buildings where product quality truly matters."
From an energy standpoint, the TAD process requires careful design of airflow, heat recovery, and exhaust systems.
Golden Paper has optimized its setup through energy-saving recovery, waste heat utilization, and air duct optimization to minimize additional energy consumption.
The company has also reached initial cooperation agreements with several key clients and plans to roll out TAD hand towel products through pilot projects first.
Based on market feedback, Golden Paper will expand production capacity and develop a fully commercialized TAD product line.
This technology upgrade not only enhances the company's product competitiveness but also strengthens its brand value and industry influence.
Golden Paper aims to use its TAD line to establish a distinct competitive advantage in China, achieving both premium quality and scalable production.
