Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the City of Texarkana has been designated as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Film Commission. This designation comes after the city successfully completed a multi-step training and certification process.
In his statement, Governor Abbott congratulated Texarkana on earning this prestigious designation. He highlighted the importance of the Film Friendly Texas program in helping communities like Texarkana attract film and media projects, creating job opportunities for Texans and boosting local businesses through on-site spending.
Representative Gary VanDeaver also expressed his pride in Texarkana's recognition as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community. He praised the town's unique character and its potential to attract filmmakers looking for a place that is both distinctive and welcoming.
