~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott revealed that six North Central Texas schools will receive a total of over $1.6 million in career training grants. These grants, awarded by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), aim to support career and technical education (CTE) programs and equip students with the necessary skills for high-demand, well-paying jobs after graduation.

According to Governor Abbott, the strong economy of Texas is largely dependent on career and technical training programs that prepare young Texans for success in high-demand industries. He expressed his gratitude to the TWC for their efforts in investing in the education of students and helping them secure better job opportunities with higher salaries.

The JET grants, presented by TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Joe Esparza, will benefit more than 540 students from six North Central Texas schools. These grants will assist the schools in purchasing and installing equipment needed to train students for occupations such as nurses, mechanics, truck drivers, and more.

Commissioner Esparza emphasized the importance of these grants in preparing a skilled workforce to meet the needs of Texas employers. He also highlighted the collaborative efforts between TWC and local partners across the state to achieve this goal.
