Governor Abbott Appoints Three to Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee

~ Governor Greg Abbott has made appointments and reappointments to the Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee, a committee established to promote patriotic education and raise awareness of the values that have contributed to the prosperity of Texas. The appointments were announced in a press release on Monday.
Don Frazier, Ph.D., who currently serves as the chair of the Committee, has been reappointed for another term set to expire on September 1, 2027. Frazier is the director of The Texas Center at Schreiner University and is known for his work in promoting Texas history through his creation of E Pluribus Texas. He has over 30 years of experience teaching in colleges across Texas and has authored multiple books on the state's history.
Frazier is also an elected member of The Philosophical Society of Texas, a scholar and director of the Texas Historical Foundation, and a fellow of the Texas State Historical Association. He has also played a significant role in heritage and cultural tourism across the state, working on projects such as designing museums and advising historical sites in various locations including Abilene, Kerrville, and other places in Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana. Currently, he serves as an advisor to The Alamo Historical Advisory Committee. Frazier holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from The University of Texas at Arlington and both a Master of Arts and Doctorate in History from Texas Christian University.

Joining Frazier on the Committee is Greg Sindelar from Austin who has been appointed by Governor Abbott. Sindelar currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) and also holds positions as interim president and chief executive officer for America First Policy Institute. With over 14 years at TPPF under his belt, Sindelar brings extensive experience to his new role on the Committee. He is also a member of Teneo and Senior Aggie Leadership Council, as well as a board member of America First Works and a former big brother for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Texas. Sindelar holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.
The third appointee to the Committee is Ernesto Rodriguez, III from San Antonio. Rodriguez currently serves as the senior curator, historian, and Alamo history lecturer at Alamo Trust, Inc. He is dedicated to conducting scholarly research that will inform the interpretative planning for the future Alamo Visitor Center and Museum, as well as deepen understanding of The Alamo's archive and artifact collections. His work has been recognized by various news outlets including Texas Monthly magazine and ABC News' Good Morning America. Rodriguez is also a member of the Texas Association of Museums and the American Alliance of Museums, as well as the San Antonio Edgewood Lions Club. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in History from St. Mary's University.
