Governor Abbott Reappoints Atkinson To Texas Public Finance Authority

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Billy M. Atkinson, Jr. to the Texas Public Finance Authority for another term. Atkinson's term is set to expire on February 1, 2029. The Authority is responsible for issuing and selling bonds to finance the acquisition or construction of buildings for designated state agencies.

Atkinson, a retired partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP with over 40 years of experience as a certified public accountant (CPA), hails from Hunt, Texas. He currently serves as the chair of both the Texas Public Finance Authority and the Texas Natural Gas Securitization Finance Corporation.

In addition to his impressive professional background, Atkinson has also held leadership positions in various organizations such as the Texas Society of CPAs Board of Directors and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. He has also served as the chair of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Texas Gulf Coast Board of Directors.

Atkinson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University. His reappointment to the Texas Public Finance Authority is a testament to his expertise and dedication in this field.
