Governor Abbott Reappoints Halbrooks As Presiding Officer Of North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Gary Halbrooks as the presiding officer of the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority (RMA). Halbrooks, who hails from Tyler, will serve in this role until February 1, 2028.

The RMA is a political subdivision that focuses on financing, acquiring, designing, constructing, operating, maintaining, and expanding transportation projects in 14 counties in North East Texas. With his extensive experience and expertise in the field of real estate and property management, Halbrooks has been a valuable member of the RMA board since 2012.

Halbrooks currently serves as the CEO and president of Venue Properties, Inc. He has also been the presiding officer of the RMA since October 2021. In addition to his professional achievements, Halbrooks is an active member of various organizations such as First Baptist Church Tyler and several real estate associations.

Halbrooks holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from The University of Texas at Tyler and a Master of Legal Studies from Texas A&M University School of Law. His reappointment as presiding officer is a testament to his dedication and commitment to improving transportation infrastructure in North East Texas.
