This board was created by SB26-155, which was recently signed into law by Governor Polis.
The Strengthen Colorado Homes Enterprise will be responsible for implementing a grant program aimed at helping homeowners fortify their roofs against hailstorms. This initiative is expected to save Coloradans money on their homeowners insurance premiums.
Governor Polis stated, "The high cost of homeowners insurance is driving up the cost of housing. Colorado is laser focused on lowering the cost of housing, and tackling high insurance costs." He also shared his bold goal of saving Coloradans an average of $800 per year on homeowners insurance and emphasized the importance of increasing the ability to protect homes from hail and fire in order to drive down premiums for everyone.
