Hell: Fact or Fiction? (Part 3) - The Secret Archives: What Enoch, Lazarus, and Paradise Reveal

TAMPA, Fla. - TelAve -- Long before Jesus explicitly mapped out the underworld, the pre-flood patriarch Enoch received detailed divine revelations regarding the afterlife. The authenticity of the Book of Enoch is evidenced by the fact that the apostles Peter and Jude directly extracted its verses. In 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 1:14-15, they address the prehistoric judgment of fallen angels who sinned with mortal women, and Jude even directly quotes Enoch regarding Christ's Second Coming. Far from being a new work, this text was included as sacred scripture by the early church for approximately five hundred years until it was lost.

In Chapter 22:3-4, Enoch recorded seeing distinct "hollow places" designed to assemble and separate the spirits of the dead until the appointed period of the great judgment. He observed a bright compartment with spring water for the righteous. Conversely, he saw a separate area of great pain and retribution where sinners are bound forever if judgment was not executed during their lifetime.

This matches the exact layout Jesus confirmed centuries later in Luke 16 with the literal account of the Rich Man and Lazarus. Jesus told this story to combat the erroneous doctrine of "soul sleep," reinforcing that a strict division is made immediately at death. He described a place of comfort called "Abraham's Bosom". In ancient Middle Eastern culture, to recline near the host's chest or bosom during a meal denoted maximum honor, favor, and spiritual intimacy. It was named for Abraham because he was the first man with whom God established a blood covenant, promising to bless both Jews and Gentiles through his seed.

However, the righteous did not stay in this place of descent forever. When Jesus completed His work of redemption on the Cross of Calvary, He descended into the heart of the earth to preach victory, resurrected those righteous captives, and brought them out. Because Christ's shed blood officially paved the way into heaven, the souls of believers no longer descend into the earth at death. Instead, as Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4, they immediately ascend into "Paradise," located in the glorious Third Heaven where God dwells. The repentant thief on the cross was among the very first to enter this newly opened Paradise with Christ. Today, as 2 Corinthians 5:8 declares, to be absent from the body is to be instantly present with the Lord, leaving the lower compartments of the earth solely to reserve the unjust until the judgment.
