Horizon Foundation headlines local sponsors of 2026 Edison Awards
TelAve News/10890270
Half of sponsors for global competition are based in Southwest Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla. - TelAve -- Southwest Florida businesses and organizations, led by the Horizon Foundation, are backing a global awards celebration being held in their backyard this April.
The Horizon Foundation, which raises private-sector money to support economic development efforts in Lee County, is a Platinum Sponsor of the 2026 Edison Awards, an international competition that celebrates innovation and ingenuity. The Foundation, along with the Lee County Economic Development Office, played a pivotal role in recruiting the Edison Awards to Southwest Florida in 2021, and the organization has sponsored the annual event every year.
"Southwest Florida may be best known as a premier leisure destination, but hosting the Edison Awards puts a spotlight on something just as important – our strength as a center for business and innovation," said Helen Edenfield, president of the Horizon Foundation. "We offer a truly pro‑business environment, and the executives, investors, engineers and innovators attending the Edison Awards will see that firsthand."
