How Huawei Grew from Leadership in Wireless to AI: Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan Comments
TelAve News/10897512
What's Next for Huawei as Artificial Intelligence Continues Rapid Growth?
NEW YORK - TelAve -- The first time Industry Analyst and Strategic Advisor Jeff Kagan met Huawei executives was roughly 20 years ago at a wireless industry trade show in Las Vegas. At that time, Huawei was still relatively unknown in the global wireless marketplace.
That was also the era when Apple launched the iPhone and Google introduced Android, transforming the wireless industry. Today, the technology sector is entering another major transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence.
"Huawei has gone through multiple stages of growth in the evolving telecommunications industry," says Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan. "They evolved from telecom infrastructure to wireless leadership, and now they are becoming a major force in AI."
"What can we expect from Huawei going forward, and what can we expect from the technology industry overall as AI continues to accelerate?" Kagan asks.
Today, Huawei is recognized as a global technology leader in AI, wireless, telecom, networking, cloud computing, operating systems, data infrastructure, smart vehicles, and autonomous driving technologies.

Huawei develops AI technologies across multiple sectors including chips, data centers, networking, software, wireless infrastructure, cloud computing, and intelligent systems. As AI expands across industries, Huawei is expected to remain one of the key global players.
"The next question is what comes next for Huawei?" asks Kagan.
Huawei's future once appeared uncertain after the United States restricted the company's participation in certain telecommunications networks and technologies. However, within only a few years, Huawei re-emerged as a strong and growing technology company with AI now serving as a major growth driver.
Like many major technology companies including Microsoft, Apple, HP, and Meta, Huawei began as a small entrepreneurial company. Huawei was founded by Ren Zhengfei in 1987 in China and initially operated as a distributor of telephone switches.
Over time, Huawei expanded into wireless infrastructure and became a global leader in 5G and telecommunications technology. Today, the company is rapidly growing its AI capabilities and market presence.

"After watching Huawei's performance over many years, I believe the company will continue to expand, innovate, and grow throughout the next decade," says Kagan. "It will be very interesting to watch their continued transformation and growth."
