Idaho Falls: IFPD & BCSO Launch Public Safety Incident Map
TelAve News/10856306
The Idaho Falls Police Department and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office are introducing the Public Safety Incident Map, a new interactive tool that will give community members more information about crime and law enforcement incidents in our community. The Public Safety Incident Map displays past law enforcement incidents in Idaho Falls and Bonneville County, including the type of incident, the date and time, the incident number, the block address of the call.
"People want to know what police officers are doing and what is happening in their neighborhoods," says Idaho Falls Police Chief Bryce Johnson. "This is intended to be a simple way for people to have information at their fingertips and to increase awareness of what is going on around them."
How to Access and Use the Public Safety Incident Map:
The Public Safety Incident Map is available on the respective Idaho Falls Police Department and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office websites.
Community members can utilize the interactive features to view information across the city and county, or can search for incidents in specific areas, such as their neighborhood. Incidents can be viewed within specific time frames and also by incident type.

To protect the privacy of people involved, victims of crime, and sensitive investigations, certain call types and detailed information are excluded from the Public Safety Incident Map. The map automatically updates every 15 minutes, with a 72-hour delay, which is also in place to protect victims, sensitive investigations, and public safety professionals.
"We are fortunate to live where people watch out for each other and have an interest in the safety of our community," says Bonneville County Sheriff Sam Hulse. "Keeping citizens informed and being transparent improves the partnership between law enforcement and our community".
Both the Idaho Falls Police Department and the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office believe in the ideals of community policing, which include that police issues are community issues. These issues are best addressed when communities and their law enforcement agencies work together. To stay informed about law enforcement incidents in Idaho Falls and Bonneville County, IFPD and BCSO encourage community members to seek information from reputable sources of information, such as local news outlets, and directly from each agency. IFPD and BCSO each engage in various social media platforms, and other outreach tools to provide information to and engage with our community.
Here are a few ways to connect with the Idaho Falls Police Department and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
