Idaho Falls Regional Airport Remind Travelers of Firearm Regulations Ahead of Busy Travel Season
TelAve News/10898514
~ As the busy travel season approaches, the Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is reminding travelers to be aware of firearm regulations. According to IDA Director Ian Turner, there has been a significant increase in the number of firearms being brought to the airport this year.
Turner urges passengers to double-check their bags before arriving at the airport. He advises travelers to ensure that any firearms are unloaded, properly secured, and packed in checked baggage. This is in accordance with federal regulations and is crucial for the safety of all passengers.
In case a firearm is detected during the screening process, local law enforcement will be notified and screening will be paused until the issue is resolved. Depending on the situation, travelers may face criminal charges, civil penalties, delays, missed flights or additional screening requirements.
