TelAve News/10875975
NAPLES, Fla. - TelAve -- Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance will open up housing applications on Oct. 1 and is preparing to welcome home 16 qualifying families in Immokalee.
Applications will be accepted from Oct. 15 through Nov. 1 for eligible residents looking for a safe, affordable and community-centered place to call home. One of the eight buildings has been completed, and 16 families have already moved in over the past year. The second building is slated to be completed and ready for move-in by January 2026. Additionally, the community center is under construction and is scheduled to open in Spring 2026.
The community is located at 2070 Corazon de la Comunidad Circle in Immokalee and features two- and three-bedroom apartment homes, with four of the units designated for people with special needs.
This affordable housing opportunity is for families or individuals earning less than 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with income eligibility ranging from $35,000 to $65,900 annually on a first qualified, first served basis. Rent will be capped at no more than 30% of a family's income.
Applicants must prove a lawful presence in the Unites States, and preference will be given to families currently living or working in Immokalee. The community prohibits any pets, smoking or drugs.

About Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance
The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) created in 2018 by a group of concerned citizens who saw the damage done by Hurricane Irma to already substandard trailers and shacks rented by farmworker families and other low-income families in Immokalee. The IFHA mission is for these families to have access to secure, affordable, hurricane-resistant rental housing, which will strengthen the community by fostering health, education, dignity and financial stability. The new category 5 hurricane-rated rental complex is currently under construction on Lake Trafford Road in Immokalee and will include 128 two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with a community center for meetings, after-school programs, health care assistance and more. For more information or to make a donation, please visit ImmokaleeFairHousing.org.
