Juneau: Registration for spring swim lessons opens February 14

~ Juneau Pools to Offer New Session of Swim Lessons in All Categories
Juneau Pools, a popular swimming facility in the city, has announced that they will be offering a new session of swim lessons for all age groups starting in February. The categories include preschool, youth, adult, and Parent & Tot. Registration for these lessons will open on Friday, February 14 at noon through the Parks & Rec registration catalog. Interested individuals can click on the "Juneau Pools" tab to access the registration page. It is important to note that registrations will not be accepted over the phone, in person, or in advance.
For those who may need financial assistance, scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship, individuals must complete an online form by Wednesday, February 12 at noon.
The Parent & Tot lessons are designed for children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years and will take place at Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool from February 22 through March 29. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings and will be organized by age groups (6-17 months and 18-36 months). The cost for these lessons is $60 plus tax.

Adult lessons (ages 13 and up) will be offered at Dimond Park Aquatic Center from February 26 through April 2. These classes will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 to 8 p.m. The cost for adult lessons is $72 plus tax.
Preschool Levels 1-3 (ages 3-5) and Youth Levels 1-4 (ages 6-12) lessons will be available at both DPAC and AGB facilities. The cost for these classes is $80 plus tax.
At AGB, classes will run from February 24 through March 19 on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 3:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. At DPAC, classes will take place from February 25 through March 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. A detailed schedule can be found in the registration catalog.
It is important to note that swimmers must meet certain prerequisites in order to register for classes beyond Level 1. Those who have not attended a Juneau Pools swim lesson placement session or passed the preceding class within the last six months will not be eligible to register for upper level classes. To arrange a swim test, individuals can contact Ellen Johnston at (907) 586-0839 ext. 4148.
