WASHINGTON - TelAve -- National Council on Interpreting in Health Care Announces Keynote Speaker for the 2026 NCIHC Language Access Congress
The National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) is pleased to announce \Dr. Lisa Diamond as the Keynote speaker for the 2026 NCIHC Language Access Congress, taking place September 24-27, 2026, in Providence, Rhode Island. This year's Language Access Congress theme: The Symphony of Synergy: Speak Clearly, Lead Boldly, Define the Action, reflects NCIHC's commitment to advancing collaborative, equitable, and linguistically responsive care across the nation.
Dr. Diamond will deliver the keynote address titled "Beyond Concordance: Building the Clinician–Interpreter Partnership," offering a forward‑looking exploration of how clinicians and interpreters can work together to improve patient outcomes, strengthen communication, and reduce disparities for individuals with non‑English language preferences.

Dr. Lisa Diamond is a board‑certified internist and research faculty member in the Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Her work examines how clinician non‑English language proficiency affects the quality of care for patients with a non‑English language preference. She serves as a Hospitalist, Co‑Director of the Patient‑Reported Outcomes - Community Engagement and Language Core, and Senior Director of Implementation for the Office of Women in Science and Medicine. She is also Co‑Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of the Center for Clinician Multilingualism and a founding Executive Board Member and Academic Medical Director for the National Association of Medical Spanish.
