It's a howl for dogs and dog lovers, bringing joyful energy via MuttStrutt.dog
KINGSTON, N.Y. - TelAve -- The Rotary Club of Kingston, N.Y., will host its Mutt Strutt event at T.R. Gallo Park, inviting dogs and dog lovers from across Ulster County for a casual, family-friendly outdoor gathering Sunday, June 7, from noon to 3 p.m. More information for participants, sponsors and vendors is available at https://MuttStrutt.dog.
The event benefits the Ulster County SPCA, which provides shelter, medical treatment and adoption services for abused, neglected and homeless animals throughout Ulster County.
Mutt Strutt is a drop-in event that requires no advance registration and is designed as a low-pressure way for the community to enjoy a dog walk and pet-themed activities — "where you can make your dog a king or queen for the day," said Ralph Mills, board member and Mutt Strutt co-chair with the Rotary Club of Kingston.
It's a howl
Mutt Strutt typically draws hundreds of dogs and their humans for an afternoon of walking, socializing and dog-friendly contests. The crowning achievement will be the pup named best in show. For dogs in each of three categories — small, medium and large — awards will be given for pets that look like their owners, have the best personality and demonstrate the best pet trick.

"Fun, yes — but Ulster County SPCA has a serious mission, and how we go about helping them is a howl," said Mary Mills, secretary of the Rotary Club of Kingston.
Proceeds and on-site donations from Mutt Strutt support the Rotary Club of Kingston's local service projects and its collaboration with the Ulster County SPCA to advance animal welfare in Ulster County. The event reflects the club's commitment to "Service Above Self," alongside other public events such as Concerts in the Park, the Chicken BBQ Mini-Festival and the Cap-to-Cap Run/Walk.
Mutt Strutt is open to the public, with no advance registration required. Attendees are encouraged to bring well-socialized dogs on leashes and to check the Rotary Club of Kingston website or MuttStrutt.dog for the latest details and any weather-related updates.
