Long Beach: El Dorado East Regional Park Offers Tips for Visitors on Easter Sunday, April 5
TelAve News/10891915
Long Beach, CA ~ As Easter Sunday approaches, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is reminding the community about park rules and visiting tips for El Dorado East Regional Park. With 388 acres of open space and a variety of amenities, including picnic areas, playgrounds, lakes, and bicycle trails, El Dorado East Regional Park is expected to see a significant increase in visitors on April 5th.
To help visitors prepare for their day at the park and make the most of their time with family and friends, PRM has provided some important information. The park will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and all visitors must leave by closing time. It is recommended that visitors arrive early as parking, picnic space, barbeque grills, and other amenities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The holiday daily parking rate at El Dorado East Regional Park is $9 per car. However, only cashless payment options will be accepted, including debit cards, credit cards, prepaid credit cards, and smart pay. Vehicle entry will be available at Gate 1 (south side of Spring Street), Gate 2 (north side of Spring Street), and Gate 4 (north side of Wardlow Road). Please note that Gate 2 can only be accessed from westbound Spring Street turning right; the left-hand turn lane will be closed.

In addition to the main parking lots at Gates 1-4, there will also be extra parking and picnic space available in Area 3 north of Wardlow Road. Visitors are advised to follow the signs to the overflow lot as parking may not be near their desired picnic location. To prevent traffic congestion, drop-offs and unloading are not permitted on Spring Street or Wardlow Road.
If the parking lots reach capacity, the park may close to vehicle entry. In this case, vehicles exiting the park may not be granted re-entry. It is also important to note that parking on the grass is strictly prohibited, unless in designated areas. Vehicles parked in unauthorized grassy areas will be cited or towed.
For those planning to visit the El Dorado Frontier Theme Park or El Dorado Nature Center, please be aware that both will be closed on Easter Sunday. However, Long Beach Animal Care Services will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with pet adoption hours available from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
To help visitors navigate the park, a map of El Dorado East Regional Park can be found on the park's webpage at LBParks.org. For more information, people can also call 562.570.1745 or check the El Dorado Nature Center and Regional Park Facebook page.
Media inquiries can be directed to Jennifer De Prez, Community Information Officer for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine at Jennifer.DePrez@longbeach.gov. As Easter Sunday draws near, PRM hopes that these reminders and tips will help visitors have an enjoyable and stress-free day at El Dorado East Regional Park.
