TelAve News/10886416
DENVER ~ Denver, CO - The eHealth Solutions Challenge (eHSC) was officially launched today by Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera, in collaboration with the Colorado Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI) and the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance (CSCA). This statewide initiative aims to identify and pilot emerging technology solutions that can improve health-related data sharing across systems and sectors.
The eHealth Solutions Challenge offers up to $150,000 in seed funding for selected projects, with a maximum of $50,000 per project. This funding will be available for up to six projects to test solutions in real-world environments. The challenge connects participating governmental and intergovernmental agencies with innovative solution providers, encouraging collaboration between agencies across the state.
In a statement, Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera expressed her excitement about the eHealth Solutions Challenge, stating that it not only promotes innovation but also fosters collaboration between agencies. She also highlighted the administration's focus on improving healthcare access, quality, and affordability over the past seven years.
The core challenge question of the eHSC is how to increase interoperability and analysis of health and health-related data across multiple agencies, organizations, and jurisdictions while maintaining security, privacy, and sovereignty. Interested participants can find more information on the eHSC website.

The Colorado Smart Cities Alliance (CSCA), which is the first state-wide alliance of its kind in the nation, is partnering with OeHI for this initiative. The organization brings together leaders from public, private, federal research, and academic sectors to advance smarter communities. Their goal is to enhance quality of life in Colorado by promoting sustainability, equity, resilience, and humanism in urban environments. Through partnership development and education initiatives, CSCA has facilitated some of the most innovative government technology projects in the state.
Established in 2015 to address the need for health information technology governance within the state of Colorado, OeHI serves as the State-Designated Entity. They are responsible for managing and coordinating all health IT strategy, policy, and funding across the public and private sectors. The core mission of OeHI is to advance health parity and reduce health disparities in Colorado by coordinating health information technology, policies, and funding initiatives.
The eHealth Solutions Challenge aims to bridge the gap in data sharing between different systems while maintaining data security, privacy, and sovereignty. With the support of OeHI, CSCA, and participating agencies, this initiative has the potential to revolutionize healthcare in Colorado by leveraging emerging technologies. Interested parties can visit the eHSC website for more information on how to get involved.
