CLEVELAND - TelAve -- Author and speaker, Matthew Cossolotto, announces a month-long countdown to Make a Promise Day (MAPD) on May 4th and the official launch of his new book – Harness Your PromisePower – which features an extensive a foreword by Jack Canfield, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

In Harness Your PromisePower, Cossolotto recounts in heartwarming detail the life-changing promise he made to his dying mother and the profound impact it had on both his life and career. That deeply personal story sets the stage for a broader exploration of promise-making as a powerful, and often overlooked, tool for personal change.

Here's how Cossolotto explains the countdown to May 4th: "Beginning today, the countdown includes a 30-day program from Harness Your PromisePower called 'A Promise a Day: 30 Days to a Promising Future.' A new Personal Empowerment Promise will be posted on social media every day leading up to MAPD on May 4th. Some of these promises are adapted from Christian D. Larson and the Optimist Creed created by Optimist International (www.Optimist.org). I created the other promises in "A Promise a Day," including my 'Top 10 Promises for a SUCCESSFUL Life.' Everyone is invited to follow me on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn to receive these empowering promises leading up to MAPD and the launch of my book."

Cossolotto cites the Personal Empowerment Promise showcased on April 1st -- Day 1 of the countdown: "I promise to forget the mistakes of the past and press on the to the greater achievements of the future." This promise is adapted from Christian D. Larson.

By featuring this series of empowering promises, the countdown is intended to connect the book's powerful messages directly to MAPD, which Cossolotto describes as the only 'holiday' dedicated to personal empowerment, goal achievement and integrity enhancement. The countdown also features the release of a model MAPD Proclamation.

Cossolotto explains: "I call on various institutions and organizations, including local, state/provincial, and national authorities in the United States and around the world, to adopt cost-free MAPD Proclamations. The model MAPD proclamation is attached to this announcement."

In his foreword to the book, Canfield reflects on a defining promise he made at age 27 — one he credits with helping shape his sense of purpose and long-term success.

In addition to Cossolotto and Canfield's own promise-propelled journeys, Harness Your PromisePower features scores of inspiring promise stories from and about real people — including luminaries such as Oprah Winfrey, Brendon Burchard, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Lisa Nichols, John Assaraf, Tony Robbins and basketball legend LeBron James.

Sir Paul McCartney's Unbroken Promise
A promise made by Sir Paul McCartney is garnering global attention right now due to the release of his new single: The Days We Left Behind. Cossolotto explains that he was intrigued by a passage from the song's bridge. Here are the key, promise,related lyrics:

"We met at Forthlin Road
And wrote a secret code
To never be spoken
I stand by what I said
The promise that I made
Will never be broken."

Cossolotto comments: "These poignant lyrics appear to refer to a pledge between Sir Paul and John Lennon when they were first writing songs together as teenagers. It's difficult to decipher exactly what the "secret code" and the "unbroken promise" refer to, but it's clear from this moving, bittersweet song that Sir Paul believes deeply in the importance of standing by what he said and keeping his promise. Here's to your unbroken promise, Sir Paul!"
