The free, family ~ As the summer season approaches, Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities is gearing up for their annual Pachanga en la Piscina event. This bilingual water safety event will take place at the Carson Aquatic Complex on Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The community is invited to attend this free and family-friendly event, which will include public swimming, water safety education, and an exciting live rescue demonstration at 1 p.m. The demonstration will feature Mesa Lifeguards and Mesa Fire and Medical's EMS team performing a mock water rescue to educate the public about water safety and life-saving procedures.

During the demonstration, a narration will be read aloud in both English and Spanish to explain each step of the rescue. Lifeguards will demonstrate an in-water rescue, remove a simulated victim from the pool, and administer CPR and AED assistance using a training mannequin. Mesa Fire and Medical personnel will then take over care of the victim.

After the demonstration, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about CPR and emergency protocols. This event is a great opportunity for families to learn about water safety while enjoying a fun day at the pool. Don't miss out on this important community event!
