~ Mesa, AZ- In 2025, the residents of Mesa made a remarkable achievement by logging over 15 million minutes of reading through the Mesa Public Library's year-long initiative, Mesa Reads. This citywide effort was designed to promote daily reading and foster a culture of literacy within the community.

Using the Beanstack app, community members were able to track their reading progress and complete fun monthly challenges to earn virtual tickets for raffle prize drawings. The goal of Mesa Reads was not only to encourage consistent reading habits but also to highlight the lifelong benefits of literacy.

According to the statistics released by Mesa Public Library, a total of 5,468 individuals participated in the program across four age groups. This included 626 pre-readers, 2,701 children, 606 teens, and 1,535 adults. Together, they logged an impressive total of 15,093,072 minutes throughout the year.
