Mustang Elite Athletes Continue State & National Impact in Week Three of Outdoor Season

OKLAHOMA CITY - TelAve -- Mustang Elite Track Club athletes delivered another impressive week of performances across Oklahoma, highlighted by national rankings, multiple personal records, and continued dominance in the hurdle events.

National Leader Emerges in the Hurdles

Freshman standout Gabriel Dixon (Mustang High School) has quickly made his mark on the national stage, currently ranking #1 in the nation in the 36" 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.39. The performance positions Dixon as one of the top young hurdlers in the country and a rising name to watch.

McKissick Breaks Through in the Sprints

At the Elgin meet, Elyjah McKissick (Choctaw High School, Class of 2026) delivered a breakout performance, running a personal best of 21.89 in the 200-meter dash, which ranks #9 in Oklahoma. He also clocked 10.81 in the 100-meter dash, placing him #12 statewide, establishing himself among the top sprinters in Oklahoma.

Depth of Mustang Elite Hurdle Squad on Display

Jonathan McCorvey
continued his strong outdoor campaign, recording a season-best 14.41 in the 110-meter hurdles at Elgin.

He was joined by a deep group of Mustang hurdlers producing top-tier marks:
  • Tayten Duncan (Senior) – 15.09
  • Jarrod Adams (Junior) – 15.18
  • Zachary Kitchen (Junior) – 15.33

Along with Kingsley Njifunuh, all five athletes training under Coach Elijah Edwards currently rank inside the top 20 in Oklahoma for the 110-meter hurdles — a testament to the strength and depth of the Mustang hurdle program.

Next Generation Making Noise

At the 43rd Annual Bethany Middle School Invitational, younger athletes also made their presence felt:
  • Aven Conyer (Bethany Middle School, 8th Grade)
    • 200m: 25.79 (PR)
    • High Jump: 5'6", ranking #4 in Oklahoma (4A Middle School)
  • Izzy Melton (Bethany Middle School, 8th Grade)
    • 200m: 27.48 (PR), ranking #8 in Oklahoma Middle School
    • Long Jump: 16'1" (PR), ranking #5 in Oklahoma

These performances highlight Mustang Elite's continued development pipeline, producing athletes who are progressing at every level — from middle school to national rankings.
