New Keylock Network Switch Enhances Cybersecurity for Critical Systems
TelAve News/10869082
CRANSTON, R.I. - TelAve -- Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL) announces the release of the LineSelect® Model 7186, a compact, wall-mounted RJ45 Cat5e keylock switch that offers secure, physical control over network connectivity. Designed to manually switch a device between two networks—or disconnect it entirely—the Model 7186 provides true air-gapped isolation, helping protect sensitive systems from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data leakage.
The Model 7186 features a single-channel A/OFFLINE/B configuration integrated into a tamper-resistant single gang wall plate. It allows users to connect a device—such as a workstation, conference room system, or critical controller—to Network A, Network B, or place it in an offline state for complete disconnection. All 8 pins of the RJ45 interface are supported, and the switch is fully transparent to data, maintaining uninterrupted performance.
This physical switch is ideal for secure environments such as command centers, control rooms, and sensitive offices where manual isolation is essential. Common applications include government, military, and utility networks, where air-gapping and segmentation are critical cybersecurity strategies. The keylock mechanism ensures that only authorized personnel can operate the switch, and the break-before-make design guarantees that no overlap occurs during switching.
