~ On June 1st, 2023, New Rochelle Detectives conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of 48-year-old Manrique Perez of New Rochelle. The detectives had an open investigation on Perez for allegedly possessing a handgun and claiming to be a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. During the traffic stop, Perez identified himself as a Federal Agent to the Detectives. Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of a stolen handgun and Federal Law Enforcement badges. He was charged with Criminal Impersonation 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree.
