October events include a community conversation on mental health and recovery, followed by the annual Rock the House fundraiser on October 15
LONG BRANCH, N.J. - TelAve -- In recognition of World Mental Health Day on October 10, Shore House is bringing the community together through two special events designed to raise awareness, encourage meaningful conversations and highlight the importance of connection and belonging in mental health recovery.
Located in Long Branch, Shore House is New Jersey's only accredited Clubhouse, providing adults living with mental illness with a supportive community and opportunities for social connection, education and employment. Through its programming, Shore House helps members build confidence, develop independence and find purpose in their everyday lives.
On Tuesday, October 13, Shore House and the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County will present From Isolation to Inclusion: A Community Conversation at 6 p.m. at the Monmouth University Center for Entrepreneurship. The panel discussion will explore the powerful role that connection, community and belonging play in mental health and recovery. Moderated by Dr. Robin Mama, Dean Emerita of Monmouth University's School of Social Work, the conversation will feature panelists Troy Hood, Dr. Sara Longo, Ron Roebuck and Katherine Tommaso, offering perspectives on the importance of creating supportive, inclusive communities.
