Montreal Creative Agency Designs Innovative Sustainable Packaging Solutions for Global Beauty Brands
SAINT-LAURENT, Quebec - TelAve -- Sustainable packaging design firm SienaBlü announced today the company's selection as a participant in the United Nations Global Compact. Companies selected for participation by the United Nations (UN) showcase the compact's ten principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. SienaBlü is a leader in the design of retail, promotional and private label packaging for lifestyle brands.
A global economic power, the beauty and personal care industry was valued at nearly $500 billion in 2018 and expected to reach $800+ billion by 2024. In response to growing consumer pressure, the industry launched the Sustainable Packaging Initiative for Cosmetics to set sustainable packaging goals and guidelines for the industry. SienaBlü designs and manufactures customized packaging, bags and salon products designed to help companies meet these sustainable packaging goals.
"The cosmetics industry is transforming rapidly as consumers increasingly demand transparency and sustainability in the products they use on a daily basis," said Chris Papp, founder of SienaBlü. "We are proud to partner with some of the biggest names in the beauty industry, from Henkel to Groupe Marcelle Cosmetics, as we create sustainable packaging solutions like compostable makeup brushes designed to reduce waste and elevate the company's brand and commitment to sustainability."

The UN Global Compact brings together 9,500 companies worldwide committed to building a sustainable future. The multi-year strategy of the UN Global Compact is to drive business awareness and action in support of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. As part of SienaBlü's own commitment to sustainable business practices, the company is partnering with Bullfrog Power to offset emissions with the purchase of green electricity from wind and low-impact hydro power generation.
In addition, SienaBlü is committed to ethical sourcing, partnering with global suppliers that meet strict standards and align with the company's values and sustainable business goals. By streamlining production outputs and implementing new technologies and practices to reduce waste, SienaBlü is an industry-leader in business sustainability. SienaBlü was awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Certificate for excellence in environment, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement over the past three years.
"We are committed to making the UN Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of our company," said Papp. "From a commitment to diversity and inclusion in our hiring practices to finding innovative new ways to design packaging solutions for the global cosmetics industry, we are committed to advancing the broader development goals of the United Nations and particularly the Sustainable Development Goals."
