CAPE CORAL, Fla. - TelAve -- Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina will kick off the month of May with two festive events, including a Kentucky Derby watch party and a Cinco de Mayo celebration.

On Saturday, May 2, Derby Day at Slipaway will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. The horse race will be broadcast live on several screens while guests sip on Buffalo Trace mint juleps, available in different flavors for $13. Slipaway will also have a selection of bourbons onsite. In the spirit of the race, attendees can also place charitable wagers, with proceeds benefiting Blessings in a Backpack SWFL.

Guests are encouraged to don their Derby hats for a chance to win one of Slipaway's Derby competition categories, including Best Derby Hat, Best Dressed Individual and Best Dressed Couple.

On Tuesday, May 5, Slipaway will transform into a vibrant Drinko-De-Mayo celebration from 2 to 8 p.m. Rob Benton, guitarist from the multi-platinum selling band Tantric, will perform from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., followed by live Latin music from Havana Band from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Guests can purchase YaVe Tequila margarita flights for $20. Slipaway's newest food truck, Taco Worx, will also be hosting a taco party. The event will include sugar skull face painting and a mechanical bull.
