The Qualex building, located at 921 Louise Street, has been vacant for over ten years and has recently been deemed a hazard to public health and safety due to its deteriorating condition.

The former photo processing facility, which was once a subsidiary of Kodak, has experienced significant structural damage over time. Portions of the building and roof have collapsed, prompting the city to take action.

After years of neglect from both current and previous owners, the City has determined that demolition is necessary to ensure the safety of its residents. This decision was made under Indiana's Unsafe Building Law and is being carried out through a court order.
