Spokane: City Recognizes Local Businesses for Excellent Wastewater Management
TelAve News/10891649
~ Spokane City, WA - The City of Spokane has recognized four organizations for their exceptional management of wastewater generated as part of their processes. These organizations have achieved 100 percent compliance with requirements in their industrial wastewater discharge permits for the year 2025.
The four organizations that have met the requirements are International Aerospace Coatings, Exotic Metals Forming, Fairchild Air Force Base, and Goodrich Corporation. These businesses are required to have industrial wastewater permits either because they produce a large volume of wastewater or because they have the potential to discharge pollutants that can disrupt wastewater treatment processes.

The City actively works with businesses and other organizations to prevent harmful or damaging substances from being discharged into the sewer system. In 2025, the City processed approximately 34 million gallons of wastewater per day at its Riverside Park Water Reclamation Facility.
According to Kirstin Davis, Communications Manager for Public Works, this achievement is a testament to the teamwork between public systems and private users. "Meeting this high level of industrial wastewater management is a great example of collaboration and sends a healthy message to our community," says Davis.
The City has also released photos of two of the recognized organizations - International Aerospace Coatings and Fairchild Air Force Base. This recognition highlights the importance of responsible industrial wastewater management and sets an example for other businesses in the community.
