This directive comes after Governor Bob Ferguson's announcement that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities will also be lowered in remembrance of Senator Hunt.

Senator Hunt passed away on April 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his constituents. The flags will remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Saturday, May 30, or first thing Monday morning, June 1.
