Springfield: Bicyclist killed in vehicle crash

Springfield, Mo. ~ On May 4, 2025, at approximately 3:14 p.m., a tragic motor vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of West Bypass and College Street in Springfield, Missouri. According to reports from the Springfield Police Department, officers were called to the scene where a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle.
The bicyclist was identified as Jennifer Collier, a 43-year-old resident of Springfield. Collier was riding her bicycle westbound on College Street when she attempted to cross West Bypass and was hit by a northbound 2020 Nissan Armada driven by William Davis, 67, also from Springfield. Collier sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.

Sadly, on May 9, the Greene County Medical Examiner's Office notified the Springfield Police Department that Collier had passed away from her injuries. Her family has been notified of her tragic death.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the Springfield Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. This marks the ninth fatal motor vehicle crash in Springfield this year, resulting in a total of ten deaths. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this devastating incident.
