#MYSHPR is bringing the fun and games to our neighborhood parks this summer, allowing for resident children and adults to develop meaningful connections with one another and with city employees through various crafts and activities. This program is free for everyone and open to all ages! No registration required.

Friday, June 26 from 8-10 p.m. No registration required.

The fun doesn't need to always stop at dark as #MYSHPR illuminates the Skate Park once a month from 8-10 p.m. Bring your blades, boards, or scooters, roll to some tunes, and enjoy refreshments for purchase from a local food truck. Free to attend.

Dodge Park

Every Thursday from 3-8 p.m. No registration required.

Thursdays nights are for friends, music, and your favorite finds from the farmers market. Dodge Park Thursdays return June 4. For the full lineup, visit myshpr.net/dodgeparkthursdays.

Roll over to Dodge Park on June 16 for Roller Nights. Bring your own roller skates/blades, skateboard, or bike and skate under the Dodge Park Farmers Market Pavilion with live DJ entertainment and concessions for purchase from local food trucks! Free to attend.

Join us for a magical night under the stars at our Great Outdoor Backyard Campout! Set up your tents, enjoy fun outdoor games, and gather around the campfire for delicious s'mores and pudgy pies. It's the perfect way for families to relax, make memories and enjoy the great outdoors together.

Create your own butterfly wings and get ready to flutter into an adventure! Kids will follow a colorful quest map as they move through the stage of a butterfly's life, stopping along the way for hands-on activities and playful challenges. The quest wraps up in the conservatory, where live butterflies soar all around and bring the journey full circle.

Learn about the many species of wild bees in Michigan including descriptions of different types of bees and how to attract them. This program is designed for ages 8-12.

Step into the colorful world of butterflies in this hands-on, adaptive program! Explore the garden as we search for butterflies, learn about their life cycle and get creative with a crafting activity where you design and decorate your own butterfly wings. Then take them for a fluttering adventure in the garden!

Nature Center

This session offers a welcoming introduction to the art of archery for adults of all experience levels. Participants will learn safe shooting practices, proper form, and techniques that build accuracy and confidence. With guided instruction and plenty of range time, this program provides a relaxed space to focus, unwind, and enjoy a rewarding outdoor activity.

Teen Night Out goes full camp mode with night hikes, owl calls, stargazing, smores and pizza made in pie irons. Bring your friends and spend the night exploring the park after dark. Event will be held at the Sterling Heights Nature Center.

Senior Center

Part of our Twisted Summer programming, this twist on Bingo will have you dancing in your seat, or maybe even out of it. Like traditional Bingo, each player gets a Bingo card but instead of numbers it has song titles. A DJ plays short clips of popular tunes from the 60's – 80's. If the song played is on the card, mark it off. Be the first to complete the card and win a prize. All participants will also receive 2 slices of pizza and beverage to help keep them energized throughout the evening.

Grands & Little Wings is a cozy, connection-focused program designed for grandparents and their grandchildren to learn and create together. Participants will explore the world of butterflies through simple, age-appropriate learning observing real butterflies, talking about colors, wings, and life cycles while sharing questions and discoveries along the way. Participants will also have time to create a craft to remember the day.
