Tacoma: City's Events and Recognitions Committee Announces the City of Destiny Award Winners

~ The Tacoma City Council and the City's Events and Recognitions Committee (CERC) are gearing up for the annual City of Destiny Awards, where they will honor Tacoma's top volunteers and service providers. The ceremony is set to take place on May 6, 2026, at 7 PM at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall located at 2727 East D Street.
Since 1987, the City of Destiny Awards have been a tradition in recognizing exceptional contributions to the community across various categories. This year's celebration will honor nine individuals and one group who have made a lasting impact through their volunteerism, leadership, and service.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for the Community Showcase, which will feature the organizations connected to the nominees. A reception with complimentary refreshments will also be held starting at 5:30 PM. - Lifetime Service: Ernie Ouellette - Daffodil Festival volunteer
