~ In a move that will bring new jobs and economic growth to the state of Texas, Governor Greg Abbott announced today that John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) will be expanding their corporate headquarters from California to Dallas County. The company, known for its professional hair care brands such as Paul Mitchell, Tea Tree, and Neuro, will also establish a new global product distribution center in Wilmer.

This expansion project is expected to create 80 new jobs and bring in over $12 million in capital investment. To support this growth, JPMS has been offered a grant of $654,000 from the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF). In addition, the company has also been offered an $8,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.

Governor Abbott expressed his excitement about the expansion, stating that "Texas is the headquarters of headquarters." He believes that with the state's skilled workforce and pro-growth economic policies, more companies like JPMS will continue to choose Texas as their home.

Co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems, John Paul DeJoria, also expressed his gratitude for being selected as a grant recipient through TEF. He stated that this initiative plays a key role in encouraging businesses to invest in the local economy. DeJoria has resided in Austin for 25 years and is deeply involved with the community.

Representative Aicha Davis echoed these sentiments and expressed her excitement about securing this expansion for House District 109. She believes that this investment will not only bring new jobs but also increase opportunities for local residents.

Mayor Sheila Petta of Wilmer welcomed JPMS to their growing business community and emphasized how this partnership will not only bring economic development but also increase visibility for the city as a destination for major industry.

Rona Stringfellow, the Economic Development Director for the City of Wilmer, also expressed her commitment to supporting JPMS's growth and success. She believes that this expansion is a testament to the city's strategic location, infrastructure, and business-friendly environment.

The Texas Enterprise Fund is a performance-based grant that aims to attract new businesses and create new jobs in the state. It provides incentives for businesses to relocate or expand in Texas, competing with out-of-state locations.

This expansion by John Paul Mitchell Systems is just one example of how Texas continues to attract businesses and create job opportunities. With its skilled workforce and pro-growth policies, it remains a top destination for companies looking to establish their headquarters.
