The Rural Health Financial Stabilization Grant aims to support rural hospitals that have been identified by HHSC as being at moderate or high risk of financial instability.
Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of rural communities in keeping the state of Texas thriving. He stated, "Texas relies on hardworking rural communities to keep our great state thriving. This grant will strengthen qualifying rural hospitals with the financial assistance they need to support their fellow Texans."
The amount awarded to each hospital will be based on their individual needs. This grant is part of HHSC's efforts to align with the Rural Hospital Services Strategic Plan, which aims to ensure continued access to hospital services for rural Texans.
