Texas: Governor Abbott Reappoints Lozano As Presiding Officer Of Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Robert L. Lozano as the presiding officer of the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority (RMA). Lozano's term is set to expire on February 1, 2028.

The RMA, a political subdivision created to finance and oversee transportation projects, will continue to benefit from Lozano's leadership and expertise. A resident of Edinburg, Lozano is the owner and chairman of F&P Brands, which operates Dairy Queen and Schlotzsky's restaurants in South Texas. He also serves as chairman of the Greater State Bank.

Lozano brings a wealth of experience to his role at the RMA. He has previously served as a board member for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas San Antonio Branch, McAllen Economic Development Corporation, Alamo Bank of Texas, and the International Bank of Commerce. He has also held leadership positions in various organizations such as the Pharr Chamber of Commerce, McAllen Chamber of Commerce, McAllen Economic Development Corporation, and Rio Grande Valley Partnership.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Lozano is also known for his philanthropic efforts. He is a former member of the Texas Rotary Club and co-founder of the Lozano Family Foundation. He is also a founding member of Good Samaritan Community Services.

Lozano holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University. With his extensive background in business and community involvement, he is well-equipped to continue leading the RMA towards its goals for improving transportation in Hidalgo County.
