~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Clinton Sawyer to the State Commission on Emergency Communications. Sawyer, who hails from Amherst, will serve a term that is set to expire on September 1, 2031. The Commission is responsible for overseeing the state's 9-1-1 service program and the statewide poison control program.

Sawyer brings a wealth of experience to this role, having previously served as the Mayor of the City of Amherst and as an agent for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. He is also a member of several prestigious organizations, including the National Association of Financial Advisors and the South Plains Association of Governments Board and Review Committee.
