Texas: Governor Abbott Reappoints Three To Small Business Assistance Advisory Task Force

~ Austin, TX- Governor Greg Abbott has recently announced the reappointment of three individuals to the Small Business Assistance Advisory Task Force. Eduardo Contreras, Lisa Fullerton, and Omar Veliz will continue to serve on the task force until June 14, 2027.
The Small Business Assistance Advisory Task Force is responsible for advising and assisting the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House on matters related to small businesses. They also provide valuable information to the public on issues affecting small businesses.
Eduardo Contreras, a resident of Austin, brings over 20 years of experience in IT security, networking, telecommunications, and software industries to the task force. He is the founder and CEO of ALCON DTS and is actively involved in various organizations such as the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Leadership Council and the Texas European Chamber of Commerce.
Lisa Fullerton, from San Antonio, is the president and CEO of A Novel Idea LLC. She has been operating multiple Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon franchises in San Antonio since 2000. Fullerton is also a director for NFIB and serves on the board for Alliance Defending Freedom. She is also a member of various advisory boards such as Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County Donor Advisory Board and Biblical Leadership for Excellence Advisory Board. Fullerton holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas State University.

Omar Veliz hails from El Paso and is the president of Veliz Construction. He brings his expertise as a professional engineer to the task force. Veliz is an executive board member of Associated General Contractors of America - Austin Chapter and has previously served on The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Construction Management Program advisory board. He was also chairman of El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board. Veliz holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Business Administration from UTEP.
