He stated that this is why the state continues to attract innovative businesses looking to invest with confidence and create jobs across various industries. Data from the Texas Workforce Commission's January labor market report supports Governor Abbott's claims. The report shows that in addition to the 40,100 nonfarm jobs added in January, the state's labor force totaled 15,955,200. Furthermore, there were 15,267,100 Texans working (including self-employed individuals). The report also revealed that from January 2025 to January 2026, Texas gained an impressive 112,200 jobs - surpassing the national annual job growth rate.
