Texas Leads Nation For March Job Gains

This statement was backed by the latest employment data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which showed that Texas had gained an impressive 46,800 nonfarm jobs in the month of March.

According to Governor Abbott, Texas is a state where free enterprise thrives and job opportunities abound. He further emphasized that with its favorable business climate and a skilled and growing workforce, Texas is truly America's economic engine. The governor also added that there is no better place to establish a business, raise a family, and achieve a prosperous future.

The labor market data released by the Texas Workforce Commission on Friday further supported Governor Abbott's claims. It revealed that Texas had reached a new high of 14,403,500 total jobs after adding 46,800 nonfarm jobs in March alone. Additionally, over the past year, Texas has gained an impressive 117,200 jobs, surpassing the national annual job growth rate.

The number of employed Texans also saw a significant increase with a total of 15,236,600 people working in various industries including self-employment. The state's labor force also experienced growth with an addition of 82,200 individuals over the last 12 months bringing the total to 15,916,600.

Governor Abbott proudly announced that since taking office in January 2015, Texas has gained nearly 2.6 million jobs. This remarkable achievement was celebrated on Monday when Site Selection magazine awarded Texas with the prestigious Prosperity Cup for being the top-performing state for job-creating business investment in 2026.

With its strong economy and continuous job growth, it is evident that Texas is truly living up to its reputation as America's economic engine under Governor Abbott's leadership.
