Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (TREO) Launches New AI-integrated Interactive Website
TelAve News/10896254
~ Governor Greg Abbott has launched a new website, the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (TREO), which utilizes advanced AI technology to streamline the process of finding rules and forms for various industries, professions, and activities in Texas. The website aims to connect users directly with state agencies, provide recommendations for reducing red tape, and simplify regulatory requirements through clear and real-time instructions.
According to Governor Abbott, the new TREO website is a "one-stop shop" for Texans to easily navigate state rules and regulations. He believes that this interactive site will save time, reduce confusion, and make information readily accessible when needed.
TREO Director Jerome Greener also expressed excitement about the launch of the website, stating that it is just the beginning of their mission to make government more efficient. He believes that with this site, Texans will be able to find all the necessary resources and services in one place. Greener also emphasized that Texas will continue to move at the speed of business and build upon Governor Abbott's vision for the future of Texas.

In addition to launching the website, Governor Abbott announced that TREO has already begun its initial round of agency reviews. So far, they have identified and recommended over 435 regulations for amendment or repeal across 11 state agencies. These recommendations are estimated to reduce 69,000 words from the Texas Administrative Code and save taxpayers an estimated $123 million.
The creation of TREO was signed into law by Governor Abbott with a goal of building a user-friendly website where Texans can easily search state rules by subject matter or type of activity/business they regulate. Additionally, TREO helps state agencies identify unnecessary or ineffective rules, determine regulatory costs on the public, issue best-practice guidelines for adopting new rules, and perform required analyses such as cost and employment impact statements.
Today's announcement marks only the initial round of agency reviews by TREO. The office continuously monitors unnecessary and ineffective rules on a daily basis and will make additional recommended cuts on a rolling basis. TREO also welcomes recommendations and feedback from the public through its Evaluation Portal.
With the launch of this new website and ongoing efforts to reduce red tape, Texas is taking steps towards a more efficient and business-friendly government. Governor Abbott and TREO are committed to making the state a leader in regulatory efficiency, ultimately benefiting all Texans.
