NEW YORK - TelAve -- The BUILD Program and PCITI International proudly announce BUILDing Soldierettes, an empowering workshop designed to equip women with leadership skills, discipline, purpose, emotional intelligence, and confidence to become stronger leaders in their families, workplaces, and communities.

The workshop takes place August 29, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1409 West Vernon Ave., Los Angeles, CA. Women of all ages and backgrounds are invited to participate in an interactive experience focused on leadership, purpose, discipline, and alignment.

The event continues the BUILD Program's commitment to developing leaders and creating safer, healthier, and more connected communities through education, mentorship, personal development, and community engagement.

The workshop is presented under the leadership of Halimah Basheer, Executive Director of the BUILD Program, following the leadership transition from her father, renowned community violence intervention pioneer Dr. Aquil Basheer. Halimah brings extensive experience in public health, behavioral health, program management, clinical supervision, and public safety initiatives.

"BUILDing Soldierettes is about recognizing the power women have to lead, influence, build, and transform the communities around them," said Halimah Basheer. "We want women to understand that they do not have to compete with men to be powerful leaders. We can stand alongside one another in partnership, strengthening our families and communities together."

Participants will engage in leadership development, mentorship, networking, personal growth, and interactive programming designed to help women identify their purpose, strengthen discipline, and confidently step into leadership.
